Happy ’80s Birthday to Bill Fulton, who went 1-0 for the 1987 Yankees. He threw four innings and gave up four dingers, including three-straight to Toronto in his debut, but he was a big league win, which is more than most people.

Gene Mauch resigns as manager of the Angels. He returns to manage the team from 1985-1987 and retires with 1902 wins over 26 seasons.
