Happy ’80s Birthday to Mark Davis who made his debut with the Phillies in 1980 and won a Cy Young award with the Padres in 1989 before leaving for Kansas City as a free agent.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Tim Belcher, who was the overall #1 pick in the 1983 draft (Twins) but didn’t sign. He eventually signed with the Yankees, but they lost him as a free-agent compensation pick. Once he finally reached the big leagues, he won 146 games over 14 seasons.

Happy ’80s Birthday to German Barranca, who spent parts of four seasons with the Royals and Reds. He was KC’s minor league Player of the Year in 1979 and later played in the Senior League.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Oswaldo Peraza, who won five games for the 1988 Orioles, and also served as a minor league pitching coach in the Toronto organization.
