The Big Unit wins 130 games in Seattle in 10 seasons.

He wins a ring the following season.

Keith Creel picks up the win over the White Sox in his big league debut by going 5.2 innings. 

He wins five games in his major league career.

Duane Walker goes 0 for 1 in his big league debut. 

He collects his first hits a few days later and finishes his rookie season with a .218 batting average.

Brian Snyder strikes out seven and allows just one run in 4.2 innings in his big league debut but gets a no-decision. 

He finishes his rookie year with a 1-2 record and one save.

Bob Melvin goes 2 for 4 with two doubles for the Tigers in his big league debut. 

He spends ten years in the majors as a player and has been managing since 2003.

Scott Bankhead throws four innings of scoreless relief and gets the win in a 2-1 17-inning Royals victory over the White Sox. 

He wins eight games as a rookie and finishes his ten-year career with 57.

Shane Mack goes 0 for 2 in his big league debut for the Padres. 

He picks up three hits a few days later and plays nine years in the big leagues.

Barry Evans hits a 2-out 9th inning Grand Slam off Pedro Borbon to lead the Padres to an 11-5 win. It was his only at-bat of the game

Evans played parts of five seasons in the big leagues and drove in a total of 41 runs. Nearly 10% of them came on one swing of the bat on May 25th, 1980 because Baseball.

Yaz becomes just the 4th player ever to appear in 3,000 games.

He finishes his career with 3,308 games played, second only to Pete Rose.

Bill Stein singles off Doug Corbett for his 7th straight pinch-hit to set a new American League record.

Fergie Jenkins records the 3,000th strikeout of his career when he fans Garry Templeton in the 3rd inning of the Cubs/Padres game.

Fergie would finish his career with 3,192 strikeouts.

After getting the first two out in the bottom of the 3rd, Pirates starter Jim Bibby walks four straight Braves to force in a run.

He’s relieved by Jim Winn, who walks the first three batters he faces. Atlanta scores four runs in the inning on zero hits.

Danny Tartabull hits an inside the park homer off Bert Blyleven.

It’s Tartabull’s first inside the parker since he hit one the year before off Bert Blyleven.

Tommy John makes the final start of his career. He gives up 5 runs in 5.1 innings against the Angels and is released a few days later.

He finishes his career with 288 wins.

Tom Selleck goes Big Fly at Tiger Stadium.
