1980 NL Rookie of the Year Steve Howe was born OTD in 1958. Howe won 7 games and saved 17 more in his rookie season, but drug problems derailed a promising career. He was killed in an automobile accident in 2006.
Happy ’80s Birthday to John Cangelosi, who stole 50 bags for the White Sox as a rookie in 1986, back when stolen bases were a thing, and won a ring with the Marlins in 1997. Remember stolen bases? They were kinda cool.

Unfortunately, the pain returns and he winds up missing the entire 1983 season as well.
