Happy ’80s Birthday to Dave Cash, who wrapped up a fantastic career with the Padres in 1980 but his salad days were in the 1970s as a member of the Phillies. He led the league in games played, at-bats, and hits in 1975.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Mike Davis, who spent ten years in the big leagues with the A’s and Dodgers.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Ron Jones, who spent four years with the Phillies and hit .290 as a rookie in 1988.

6/11/88

Rick Rhoden starts at DH for the Yankees, the first time a pitcher has done so since the rule was adopted in 1973.
