Happy ’80s Birthday to Warren Cromartie, who made his debut in 1974 and spent 9 seasons with the Expos before heading to Japan to play for the Yomiuri Giants under manager Sadaharu Oh and winning a championship. He returned to the U.S. in 1991 and spent a season with the Royals before retiring.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Craig Lefferts, who has more saves than any other player born in Germany. You know the Germans make great stuff.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Rob Deer, who had 49% of his career plate appearances result in either a homer, walk or strikeout.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Gene Richards, who apparently used a 73-inch bat.

He is also 2nd on the Padres all-time stolen base leaderboard behind Tony Gwynn.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Ken Macha, who spent six years in the bigs as a player and later managed the Brewers and the A’s.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Steve Busby, who threw two no-hitters before tearing his rotator cuff.

He won 56 games between 1973 and 1975.

Happy ’80s Birthday to one of the coolest dudes in baseball. I mean, who wouldn’t want to hang out with Tim Flannery?

Happy ’80s Birthday to Mark Calvert, who won three games for the Giants in 1983 and 1984.
