Happy ’80s Birthday to Jerry Reed, who spent nine years in the bigs with four teams and also pitched in the Senior League before it went under. Jerry won 20 games over the course of his major-league career.
Happy ‘80s Birthday to Jeff Lahti, who was drafted three times and made his debut with the 1982 Cardinals. He won 17 games over the course of his career and saved 19 for the 1985 Cards. He also won a ring with St. Louis in 1982.
Happy ‘80s Birthday to Mike Chris, who was drafted four times and made his debut with the Tigers in 1979 and also spent time in the bigs with the Giants.
Happy ‘80s Birthday to Bob Skube, who played in 16 games for the Brewers in 1982 and 1983. He later became a coach in the minor leagues.
Happy ‘80s Birthday to Bryan Little, who spent five years in the bigs with the Expos, White Sox, and Yankees, batting .245 over 327 games. He is the brother of former big-league manager Grady Little, and Bryan managed in the minor leagues.
Happy ‘80s Birthday to Mike Morgan, who spent 22 years in the major leagues and pitched for 12 teams.
He won 141 games and threw more than 2,700 innings, earning an All-Star nod with the Dodgers in 1991.
Happy ‘80s Birthday to Jack Hardy, who appeared in five games for the 1989 White Sox.
Paul Splittorff was born OTD in 1946. He spent 15 years in the big leagues, all with the Royals and still holds the franchise record for wins with 166. He later was a broadcaster for the team. Paul passed away in 2011.

As thrilling as the NLCS was in 1980, the ALCS left a lot to be desired in terms of drama, but it was really fun to watch if you happened to be a Royals fan.
