Happy ’80s Birthday to Jamie Quirk, who spent 18 years in the bigs and was part of the first-ever “All-Q” battery. He later served as a coach and scout for multiple organizations.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Rich Wortham, who pitched for the White Sox for four seasons, winning a career-high 14 games in 1979.

In 1973, he helped the U.S. win their first Gold Medal in the FEMBA Amateur World Series by pitching a shutout. The opposing pitcher that day was Dennis Martinez.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Frank DiPino, who pitched in the big leagues for twelve years. He was a starter in 1982 for Houston but they converted him to a closer the following year and he saved 34 games over the next two seasons.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Jeff Jones, who hit a league-record 42 homers for the Cedar Rapids Reds in the Midwest League in 1982 and appeared in 16 games for the 1983 Reds.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Bill Fulton, who went 1-0 for the 1987 Yankees. He threw four innings and gave up four dingers, including three-straight to Toronto in his debut, but he was a big league win, which is more than most people.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Gerald Young, who spent eight years in the big leagues with Houston, Colorado, and St. Louis and stole 155 bases. He was also the first big league player born in Honduras.
