The Expos trade their 1985 first-round draft pick, Pete Incaviglia, to the Rangers. Incaviglia only agreed to sign with Montreal on the condition that he would be dealt to Texas.
The Expos received Jim Anderson and Bob Sebra in return.

The Rangers trade Don Slaught to the Yankees for a PTBNL. The Yankees sent Brad Arnsberg to Texas to complete the trade.
Slaught spends two years in New York before heading to Pittsburgh.
