Happy ’80s Birthday to Pedro Guerrero, who was an offensive force for the Dodgers in the mid-’80s.

From 1982 through 1985, his average season was .306 with 28 homers and 90 RBI

Happy ’80s Birthday to Eddie Miller, who has the unique distinction of hitting his only career home run in his final career at-bat. As a member of the San Diego Padres, he took Pascual Perez deep on the final day of the season in 1984.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Rick Honeycutt, who pitched in the big leagues for 21 years and served as a pitching coach with the Dodgers for another 18 years. 

Happy ’80s Birthday to Bruce Kimm, who four seasons in the big leagues with multiple teams. He finished up in 1980 with the White Sox. 

The great Craig Sager was born OTD in 1951.

Detroit beats Milwaukee, 9-5, to earn Sparky Anderson his 600th win as Tigers manager.

He’s the first manager ever to win 600 games in each league.

Wade Boggs hits a slam and drives in 7 in a 14-3 win over the Orioles.

The Yankees outslug the Blue Jays 15-14 in a game that features eight home runs.

Dave Winfield and Don Mattingly combine to go 4-9 with 3 homers and 11 RBI.

Ron Kittle hits an inside the park homer in Toronto because speed never takes a day off.

At the tender age of 40, Charlie Hough throws 11 scoreless innings (163 pitches) against the Mariners and picks up a win thanks to a Barbaro Garbey Sac Fly in the top of the 12th and a scoreless 12th from Mitch Williams.

The start caps a month in which Hough goes 4-1 in 6 starts while throwing 57 innings and posting a 1.26 E.R.A.
