Happy ’80s Birthday to Terry Puhl, who hit a cool .526 in the 1980 NLCS. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t enough to get his Astros past the Phillies.

Terry spent 15 seasons in the bigs and recorded more than 1,300 hits.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Alan Ashby, who spent 17 years in the big leagues and caught three no-hitters.

Happy ’80s Birthday to 1989 National League Rookie of the Year Jerome Walton, who bested his teammate Dwight Smith to take home the hardware.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Rosario Rodriguez, who appeared in 34 games for the Reds and Pirates from 1989 through 1991.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Ken Patterson, who was drafted four times and spent seven years in the big leagues with the White Sox, Angels, and Cubs.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Mike Ramsey, who appeared in 48 games for the 1987 Dodgers.

Happy ’80s Birthday to Bob Kipper, who was the #8 overall pick in the 1982 draft and spent eight years in the big leagues.

Down 4-2 heading into the 9th inning, the Reds score 6 runs to take the lead over the Pirates but the Bucs score 5 in the bottom frame to win it thanks to a Willie Stargell 2-run HR and Jason Thompson’s bases-loaded walk-off double.

The Expos score their only run in the 1st inning when Tim Wallach singles to drive in Tim Raines.

Thanks to two rain outs, the Dodgers and Cardinals play each other four times over the course of two days and St. Louis wins all four games.

The Cards win games 3 and 4 on July 8th behind Bob Forsch and Dave LaPoint.
