The Indians release Wayne Garland and his career is over. The righty signed a 10-year, $2.3 million free agent deal with Cleveland after going 20-7 with Baltimore in 1976, but tore his rotator cuff in 1978.

Deaths

Art Fowler 1962 Topps Baseball Card

We lost Art Fowler OTD in 2007. He pitched in the bigs for nine years and served as Billy Martin’s pitching coach in Detroit, Texas, New York and Oakland.
