Deaths
Mel Stottlemyre passed away OTD in 2019. He was a 5-time All-Star and later became one of the most respected pitching coaches in the game.
Former umpire Doug Harvey passed away OTD in 2018. His nickname was God.
Former Padres, Astros, and Cubs skipper Preston Gomez passed away OTD in 2009
We lost Johnny Podres OTD in 2008. Podres won four rings as a player, including winning the 1955 World Series MVP, and then spent 23 years as a pitching coach in the big leagues.
