Happy ’80s Birthday to Frank Taveras. Thanks to a midseason trade in 1979, Frank played in 164 games for the Mets and Pirates. That’s gonna be tough to beat. The only guy who played in more games in a single season was Maury Wills with 165 in 1962.

Happy ’80s Birthday to John D’Acquisto, who threw gas and spent 10 years in the bigs with the Giants, Padres, Expos, Cardinals, A’s, and Angels. He spends part of his time in retirement working as an artist.

Happy ’80s Birthday to John Costello, who spent four seasons in the bigs with the Padres, Cardinals, and Expos. He won ten games out of the pen in his first two seasons in St. Louis.

Victor Cruz was born OTD in 1957. He pitched parts of five seasons for the Blue Jays, Indians, Pirates and Rangers between 1978 and 1983. Victor passed away in 2004 of cancer. He was just 46.

Nino Espinosa passed away OTD in 1987. He had a heart attack when he was just 34
