Happy ’80s Birthday to Steve Kemp, the overall #1 pick of the 1976 draft, who seemed destined for stardom after his first four seasons. From 1977 through 1980, Kemp averaged 20 homers and 93 RBI with the Tigers.
Steve Senteney was born OTD in 1955. He served in the Marines before beginning his baseball career and pitched in three games for the 1982 White Sox. He was killed in a car crash in 1989.
