The Astros trade Don Sutton to Milwaukee for PsTBNL and cash. Milwaukee sends Kevin Bass, Frank DiPino, and Mike Madden to Houston to complete the deal. Sutton beats the Orioles on the last day of the season to get the Brewers into the playoffs.

The Padres trade Storm Davis to the A’s for PsTBNL. Oakland sends Dave Leiper and Rob Nelson to San Diego to complete the deal. Davis doesn’t help Oakland reach the playoffs in 1987, but he wins 35 games for them over the next seasons.

The Braves trade Gene Garber to the Royals for a BTBNL. KC sends Terry Bell to Atlanta to complete the deal. Garber appears in 39 games between 1987 and 1988 before his career is over.

Jose DeLeon throws 11 innings of one-hit shutout baseball against the Reds and gets a no-decision as Cincinnati wins the game 2-0 in 13 innings. The Cardinals left 16 men on base.
