Tim Raines singles off Craig Swan to lead off the bottom of the first inning against the Mets. He takes off to steal 2nd and Mets catcher Ron Hodges’ throw hits Swan and he suffers a broken rib. He throws just 8 1/3 innings the rest of the season.
