Julio Cruz

Spent ten years in the major leagues with the Mariners and White Sox. He stole 343 bases over the course of his career and hit .333 for Chicago in the 1983 ALCS.

John Ellis

Spent 13 years in the bigs with multiple teams and was the first DH in Cleveland history. He wrapped up his career in 1981 with Texas.

David West

Made his debut with the Mets in 1988 and pitched for ten years. He appeared in the World Series with the Phillies in 1993 and won a ring with the Twins in 1991. He was just 57 when he passed away.

Drafted four times and appeared in 44 games for Cleveland and Atlanta.  He finished his major league career in 1980.

Dwight Smith

Runner-up to his teammate Jerome Walton for the 1989 N.L. Rookie of the Year Award and spent eight years in the bigs with four teams. He was just 58.

Win Remmerswaal

His is a tragic story. He went 3-1 over two seasons for the Red Sox but spent more than 20 years in a nursing home in the Netherlands with serious health issues.

John Wockenfuss

Spent 12 years in the big leagues with the Tigers and Phillies and had the misfortune of being traded to Philadelphia in the spring of 1984 so he wasn’t around for the Tigers World Series run.

Mark Littell

Spent nine years in the big leagues with the Royals and Cardinals but his career was cut short due to elbow issues. He passed away of complications following heart surgery.

John Stearns

Was the overall #2 pick in the draft (Phillies) in 1973 and made his debut the following year. He was traded to the Mets in a deal involving Tug McGraw and spent 11 years in the bigs.

Maury Wills

Made his big league debut with the Dodgers in 1959 and led the N.L. in stolen bases in each of his first full seasons, including an MVP campaign in 1962 when he stole 104 bases. He won three rings as a player and briefly managed the Mariners in the early 1980s.

Won 20 games over six seasons for the Rangers and Braves between 1976 and 1985.

Bruce Sutter

Won the Cy Young in 1979 and led the N.L. in saves five times. He was also a member of the World Champion 1982 Cardinals and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2006.

Gaylord Perry

Won the Cy Young in the A.L. (Cleveland) and N.L. (San Diego) and finished his career with 314 wins over 22 seasons. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1991.

Tom Browning

Finished 2nd to Vince Colamdn in the 1985 N.L. Rookie of the Year race and won a World Series with the Reds in 1990. He also threw a perfect game against the Dodgers in 1988.
